El acto, presidido por el alcalde de Albacete, Manuel Serrano, ha contado con la presencia de Gonz\u00e1lez junto a representantes de la Fundaci\u00f3n Secretariado Gitano, ASIEM y otras entidades gitanas. Se le\u00eddo un manifiesto en defensa de una ley que garantice la defensa de los derechos del pueblo gitano; se ha izado simb\u00f3licamente la bandera gitana \u2014verde por los campos, azul por el cielo y rueda roja por el origen indio y la libertad\u2014 y la Banda Sinf\u00f3nica Municipal ha interpretado el himno \u00abGelem, Gelem\u00bb, en conmemoraci\u00f3n del Primer Congreso Mundial Roman\u00ed de 1971 en Londres, que origin\u00f3 esta fecha internacional.<\/p>\n
Jos\u00e9 Gonz\u00e1lez ha enfatizado el apoyo provincial a la diversidad cultural y al fin de los estereotipos que hist\u00f3ricamente han afectado al pueblo gitano, recordando las iniciativas impulsadas por la instituci\u00f3n, como programas de empleo, educaci\u00f3n y digitalizaci\u00f3n, que buscan cerrar brechas y promover la igualdad real. Asimismo, ha felicitado a Antonio Campos, actor albacete\u00f1o de origen gitano, cuya labor ha sido hoy reconocida.<\/p>\n
